Did You Get Good Grades in High School? What Your Past Report Cards May Mean for Your Health Now

Were you a straight-A student in high school or more of a slacker? Interestingly, the grades you got when you were a teenager may tell you something about your health later in life ...

Were you an As and Bs kind of gal in high school, or were you happy to get a solid C? I was sort of obsessed with my GPA in high school, and I believe there was even a time that I may have cried about getting an A- instead of an A.

As it turns out, good grades in high school may translate into better health later in life, say researchers who studied more than 10,000 high school graduates over a 50-year span. The conclusion: Good grades directly related to better health.

"How well you do in school matters," said study author Pamela Herd, a professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. "We already know it matters for things like your work and your earnings, but this proves it also matters for your health."

I'm so curious: Did you get good grades in high school? How's your health today? How about those that got lower grades--do you think you're more unhealthy for it?

P.S. Could taking this OTC pain killer daily prevent you from getting cancer? And, touch this common thing and up your cancer risk? Researchers say beware ...
